Premier Toronto Hellbilly Alt Country Band!
After a near-death-metal experience in mainstay Toronto band The Newtons, a shaken yet undeterred Rob Revolting re-emerged. Stripped down (the sound that is) and more refined (Rob put a swear jar in his kitchen), Luckyfool is a cool melodic blend of surf-pop, country, bloograss, small amounts of jazz, and uh, death metal. A Luckyfool set offers an accessible range of styles, from slow ballads to high-energy hellbilly pop thatll keep yer toes a-tappin!!!
Luckyfool is fronted by the vocal/guitar stylings of Reverend Rob Revolting, with Lori Lou on backing vocals. Smokin Jim Robbins provides hot licks on guitar and pedal steel. Jolly Oli Jones handles the bottom end on bass, and Dr. D Beat bangs the pots and pans.

Frontman Reverend Rob Revolting has been writing and performing in Toronto-area rock bands for over 15 years. His eclectic musical background ranges from punk to country to death metal to..., but with the song always being the focal point. Following the breakup of The Newtons in 2000, Rob founded Luckyfool as the vehicle for his musical vision. The primary writer of Luckyfool's material, Rob's original songs embrace many musical styles, and are noted for their wordplay and irony as well as for their sincere emotion. With his strong vocals and rockin' guitar, Rob dishes out a high-energy performance for Luckyfool fans. Contact Rob at revrob@luckyfool.ca. |

Lori Lou has been a music manager and closet singer for many years. Luckyfool convinced her to come out of that closet and she has been skippin' and singin' ever since. Lori Lou also plays autoharp, changes the tires on the tour bus, and generally has the boys' backs when things get outta hand. She also brings something to the band that the boys couldn't - a purty face! You can reach Lori Lou at lorilou@luckyfool.ca. |

Grabbing the bass reins for Luckyfool is Jolly Oli Jones. This good ol' Kingston boy grew up playing guitar, bass, mandolin and drums. He's the real deal, having studied music professionally in BC, and honed his skills in bands and backing several independent artists. Oli has a groovin' style that will please yer ears. Email Oli at oli@luckyfool.ca. |

He has chosen to bang on things for us, and we're glad of it - he brings energy and taste to the role. You can email Dr D at DrD@luckyfool.ca. |

Smokin' Jim Robbins brings hot Tele licks to Luckyfool, and proves that Winnipeg guitarists still have something to show the music world. Another professionally trained musician, Jim has played extensively with bands big and small in Canada and the US. Jim is also known as a pedal steel and keyboard player, and might have a few other tricks up his sleeve as well. Jim can be contacted at jim@luckyfool.ca. |
